About the Daily Trivia Quiz
One puzzle. Five questions. A new quiz every day — free to play and designed to be finished in a couple of minutes over coffee.
Our mission
The Daily Trivia Quiz was built for people who love learning a little something new every day without committing to a long study session. The format is deliberately small: five short questions, one visit, and a shareable emoji grid at the end. It's the kind of habit that fits alongside your morning coffee, your commute, or a quick break between meetings.
We think general knowledge should be inclusive rather than intimidating. That's why we spread questions across 13 categories, keep the difficulty balanced for everyday players, and forgive small typos in your answers. If you like puzzle-a-day games but want something broader than words, geography, or maths alone, this is for you.
How to play
- Review the 13 possible categories, then start your random five-question mix.
- Answer one question per category with free-text — spelling has some wiggle room.
- See your score, share the emoji grid, and build your streak.
- Come back tomorrow for a new puzzle.
Each account gets one scored attempt per day. The five questions are locked when the round starts, so the set cannot change while you play. Friends can compare daily scores and streaks even when their category mix differs.
The 13 categories
Each daily round draws from this broad topic mix, which keeps the quiz varied and gives everyday knowledge a fair chance to shine:
- Geography — capitals, countries, landmarks, oceans and rivers.
- History — world events, leaders, inventions, and turning points.
- Science — biology, chemistry, physics, space and technology.
- Sport — teams, athletes, records and moments across major sports.
- Movies & TV — classic films, popular shows, actors and directors.
- Music — artists, albums, decades and genres from around the world.
- Food & Drink — cuisines, ingredients, cocktails and traditions.
- General Knowledge — the mixed bag that keeps things interesting.
- Animals — habitats, species, behaviour and record-breakers.
- Mythology — gods, heroes and stories from world traditions.
- Literature — writers, characters, novels, poetry and plays.
- Nature — weather, plants, ecosystems and the natural world.
- Fashion — designers, garments, eras and influential styles.
Streaks & stats
Playing every day builds a streak. Signed-in players get a current streak (how many consecutive days you've played), a best streak (your personal record), and lifetime stats like total correct answers and accuracy. Streaks reset if you skip a day, but your best streak sticks around forever — one bad week doesn't erase your record.
Play with friends
Create a free account to add friends by username, sync your streak across devices, and compare daily scores on the leaderboard. The leaderboard has Today, This Week, This Month, and All-time views so you can crown a daily winner or track who's the most consistent over the long run.
Frequently asked questions
Is it free?
Yes — completely free to play. We may show ads to help keep the game running.
Do I need an account?
No, you can play daily as a guest. An account is only needed for the archive, friends, and cloud-synced stats.
Are the questions fresh each day?
Yes. The playable round is generated for the date and checked against previously stored questions to avoid repeats. Your set is fixed as soon as play begins.
Can I play more than once a day?
No — one attempt per account per day, so leaderboards stay fair. A new puzzle unlocks at local midnight.
I think an answer is wrong — what do I do?
Head to our Contact page and send the date, category, and the answer you think should have been accepted. Our editorial standards explain how reports and corrections are handled.
